Mediterranean Diet May
Prevent Childhood Asthma
Fruits and veggies, wholegrain breads and
cereals, legumes, and nuts are the hallmarks
of a Mediterranean diet. A new study found
that kids of moms who more closely followed
this type of diet while pregnant were 66 percent
less likely to have asthma symptoms by
age 6½ years. A high intake of veggies, fish,
and legumes seemed to offer the most
protection.
